Chapter 1~ Sunset Towers
Otis Amber, a delivery boy, sends out sixteen letters written by Barney Northrup, the real-estate agent of the newly built apartment complex the Sunset Towers. This letter shows the amazing features about Sunset Towers. Even though Barney Northrup does not exist he persuades all of the tenants to buy the apartments by saying that there is only one apartment left. One by one all the apartments sell and all are taken. Ultimately everyone settles and the people who live there are classified as a doctor, secretary, judge, restaurateur, and a mistake!
Chapter 2~ Ghosts' or Worse
Now everybody has moved in to the apartment complex, and the Hoo's Restaurant and the Theodorarkis coffee shop is now open. In the afternoon the doorman Sandy Mcsouthers, delivery boy Otis Amber, high school senior Doug Hoo and Theo Theodorakis see smoke coming out of the Westing House, the house where no ones had lived for over 13 years. By that time Turtle Wexler comes and asks what happened to old man Westing and Otis Amber tells her the story about the house and his legacy. After hearing this story Turtle Wexler makes a bet with them to go inside the house for money and everyone agrees. Meanwhile, Chris Theodorarkis, the wheelchair ridden birdwatcher sees someone limping inside the Westing Mansion when the smoke is coming out of it.
Chapter 3~ Tenants In and Out
By this time everyone notices the very evident smoke coming out of the Westing House and everybody wants to know what is going on insude the Westing house. Angela Wexler is getting married to Dr. Denton Deere and the dress maker, Flora Baumbach, is making her elegant dress. Meanwhile Chris tells his story to his brother about the limping person coming to the Westing House,but Theo doesn't believe him and puts it aside. Also, Sydelle Pulaski moved to Sunset Towers to meet elegant people,but no one pays attention or knows her and she is going to do something big to get their attention.
Chapter 4~ The Corpse Found
Turtle decides to go inside the Westing House for the bet she made. If she staid 25 minutes she would get $50 from all of them. After staying just 11 minutes she runs out after hearing a strange sound from inside and seeing that old Sam Westing was dead.The next morning an article on the paper came about old man Westing's death and his legacy, but it didn't include any details about where or how he died. Later that day all the Tenants had received a letter to state their position during that night and that his will will be read at the Westing Mansion.
Chapter 5~ Sixteen Heirs
16 tenants, the ones who received a letter from Otis Amber, arrived to the library of the Westing house for the reading of Sam Westing's will. A corpse embalmed and dressed as Uncle Sam lay on the table the 16 tenants sat at. Sydelle Pulaski came in with a crutch, but her real intention was to get attention from the other tenants. Once everyone had arrived the attorney, Julian R Eastman, read the will out loud.
Chapter 6~ The Westing Will
The Westing will is read and the will reveals many secrets about Sunset Towers and the Tenants. The will somehow reveals there every move and says the heir of the Westing house would be one of them and that they had to play the Westing game to win his house and the rest of his money. The heir has to figure out the mistake and murderer out of all of them.
Chapter 7~ The Westing Game
In the Westing game room, the lawyer, Ed Plum, announced that there are 8 teams, 10,000 dollars for each pair, and a set of clues for each team. The only restrictions are that if one of the partner quits the other one must also quit and that they must return the 10,000 dollars that was given to them. In the game, the players will get a two day notice when the session ends and by then they need to give an answer. Finally, Edgar explained that the pairs are Madame Hoo and Jake Wexler, Turtle Wexler and Flora Baumbach, Chris Theodorakis and Dr. Deere, Sandy McSouthers and J.J.Ford, Grace Wexler and James Shin Hoo, Crow and Otis Amber, Theo and Doug Hoo, and Sydelle and Angela. When the heirs looked at their only clues, Sydelle and Angela didn't even budge touching the envelope with the set. At the end of the meeting people remembered who took the notes of the will and asked themselves if maybe the key to the mystery were in the Sydelle's shorthand notes.
Chapter 8~ The Paired Heirs
When the tenants woke up the next morning they discovered that Sunset Towers was bounded from fifteen feet of snow. Still as frantic as ever, everybody came after Sydelle's shorthand notes of the will. Sydelle and Angela visited Chris and he asked what type of grains there are to figure out his clue given by Sam Westing. When the Sydelle and Angela said oats he thought that oats meant Otis Amber. For his clues were For, Grains, Plain, and Shed. Turtle and Flora looked at their clues, Sea, Mountain, Am, and O. However, Turtle thought the quote, "Buy Westing Paper Products," in the will meant to be in the stock market, leading to that thought she spent all her time in the market. Mr. Hoo's and Mrs. Wexler's clues were Fruited purple Ways For Sea and they both discovered that For Sea sounds, like apartment 4C. However, Mr. Hoo said that he lived at 4C, so they both got stuck in their thoughts. Doug and Theo tried to find out what their clues, His, N, On, To, Thee, and For, but failed to do so. J.J. Ford decided to ask the newspaper to find out if anyone had a rivalry with Sam Westing. After attempting to put the puzzle, they went to the shorthand notes but someone had stolen them.

Chapter 9~ Lost and Found
The next morning, after Sydelle loses her shorthand notes she posts a sort of note stating to return her notebook on the back wall of the Sunset Tower's elevator. Everyone sees her note so they start posting for things they have lost and everyone realizes that someone must by stealing their belongings. J. J. Ford posts a note saying she is hosting a party for the Tenants of the Sunset Towers in her apartment. As J. J. Ford is getting ready for her party a phone rings. Ford picks it up and a man tells her that he found out by looking through some files that James Hoo had a rivalry with Sam Westing and filed a lawsuit again Sam Westing because he claimed that he stole his idea of disposable paper diapers.
Chapter 10~ The Long Party
It is finally time for Judge J.J. Ford's party and Grace Wexler arrives extra early to not miss any facts or clues that are discussed. James Hoo also arrives and J.J Ford asks him questions about Sam Westing and his relationship with him. Grace meets Angela's partner, Sydelle, and she thinks that Sydelle is an absolute freak and that Angela should keep her distance. Furthermore, Angela runs into Judge Ford's kitchen to cry about her mother treating her like an object not a human being, and that her mother controls her decisions.
Chapter 11~ The Meeting
When Theo posts a note saying if the Tenants want to share their clues and solve the mystery together they should come down to the first floor coffee shop. Everyone comes because they don't want to miss anything or sharing of any important information. After no one will talk or speak their clues the Tenants decide to let anyone ask the group a question secretly. Sydelle asks if anyone has has her short hand notes and James Hoo said that he had it all along! He said he found it in his restaurant but couldn't read it. Sydelle reveals that the reason why no one could read it because it was written in Polish! Sydelle frantically accuses, James Hoo, but he promises that he didn't steal it and all of a sudden the meeting ends in a panic and confusion.
Chapter 12~ The First Bomb
The Panic that happened in the Coffee Shop was of a bomb, that had gone off. Although it was a bomb everyone thought that it was gentle, and like it was nothing because no one got hurt. Turtle goes to find her lost materials, after she finds out they're not there. After the bombing J. J. Ford calls a private investigator to find out information about the 16 heirs and their relation to Sam Westing. Angela goes through Turtle belongings and finds her clues that would make Turtle believe they lead stocks Angela, rummaging through Turtles notebook, finds a newspaper that came out the the morning after Sam Westing's death. After an investigation the private investigator finds that George Theoadorkis, Chris and Theo's father, was Violet Westing's boyfriend during high school.
Chapter 13~ The Second Bomb
When Grace Wexler looks a the Bulletin Board she finds that everyone is going to the safe Shin Hoo's restaurant to eat She pairs up tenants to sit with each other at lunch. As everyone enjoying their lunch and talking peacefully in Shin Hoo's restaurant another bomb goes off. This bomb was a tomato sauce but the explosion broke Sydelle's ankle who at the time was very close to it. The bomb squad was called in and they said that it was a gas explosion, so Grace Wexler, whos daughters Wedding party was in three days opened her windows to make sure that no explosion was going to happen in her house. Additionally the bomber is on a rampage and is going to strike again the bomber is supposedly going to bomb the Wexler's apartment.
Chapter 14~ The Pairs Repaired
The snow blocking the tenants from exiting Sunset towers has melted and the 16 tenants are free to go outside and travel. After this happy moment Turtle, Sandy, Otis, and Doug all have a detailed conversation outside the lobby doors about who could Sam's murder be. Turtle and Sandy talk about how that no one would want to murder him so it would have to be on accicdent. Dr Denton Deere, a intern, meets up with his partner, Chris Theodorakis, for the first time since The Westing Game started to make out out their clues but leaves after a couple of minutes. When Judge Ford and Sandy McSoutherns are giving a try at their clues Judge Ford gives Sandy 10 thousands dollars because of his poor and unstable condition. Sandy was thinking over the time when Sunset Towers was snow bounded figures that their clues could be trying to tell then Otis Amber.
Chapter 15~ Fact and Gossip
After long days being cramped in their apartment every tenant is back to their daily routines of going outside, Turtle went to school, Doug started to run, and James Shin Hoo waited for customers that never came. To add on, J. J. Ford finds out from Sandy that Sam Westing's daughter Violet Westing killed herself after Sam's ex-wife made her marry a nice lawyer that she didn't want to. Instead of having that kind of husband she wanted to marry George Theodarkis. Angela is also rethinking her marriage to Denton Deere and that she might repeat a disaster. Meanwhile, Grace think that the restaurant should be called Hoo's on First to attract more customers, but James Hoo as grump as ever disagrees.
Chapter 16~ The Third Bomb
Depressed Angela is having her wedding shower with all Grace's friends and relatives. Everyone is gossiping and Angela starts opening presents. She opens them normally until she reaches for the gold ribbon gift. She acts nervous and touches the present very slowly. Turtle, the impatient girl, starts to open it for her and Angela pushes her out of the way and it explodes right on her face. Angela starts to bleed majorly and gets a lasting cut on her right cheek. After all the chaos the 16 tenants start to think of who the bomber, murderer, and thief is in their own minds in the hallway when the Bomb Squad and medical attention arrive. The real twist is that nobody imagined that Angela herself would turn out as the bomber!
Chapter 17~ Some Solutions
Grace Wexler and James Hoo have been trying new ways to interpret their and they let Jake try to see if their clues made any sence, since he wasn't playing the game, they all use their brains to find that Purple Fruited in their clues falls out to be Edgar Plum. Sandy and Ford start to record past history and relation to Westing for every single tenanst. Meanwhile while Theo is doing his chemistry and from there figures out that his clues make up the chemical formula of the bomb and spell the name Otis, he thinks that Otis should be closely watched closely.
Chapter 18~ The Trackers
As Turtle and Flora start to talk more they start to have to care and love for each other. For Turtle Flora represents a motherly figure, as her mom pays her no attention. They both give each other a pet name called Baba and Alice. Theo after consideration believes that his clues lead to Otis Amber he puts Doug to follow him and to track any suspicious activity. Otis eventually sees Doug and gives him a letter from Ed Plum stating to gather in the Westing Mansion's library next week. Elsewhere, Turtle finds out that her stocks are rising more than ever and she immediately sells them to again profit.
Chapter 19~ Odd Relatives
The tennats start to talk about who the bomber could be. Otis finds out that James Hoo could be a leading candidate, because that Hoo needs more business so he blew up the coffee shop to attract more customers to his restaurant, then he blew up his restaurant to cover up his tracks, also he catered Angela's wedding shower and it's hard to sneak a hostile present in with a bunch of girls there to look. Also, Sandy finds information that Sam Westing mean't to invite Sybil Pulaski instead of Sydelle Pulaski to the Westing Game. Sydelle is the mistake made by Sam Westing! Furthermore Sandy and J. J. Ford figure out by connecting the clues that Berthe Erica Crow's husbands name was Windy Windkloppel. Who Grace had a connection with.
Chapter 20~ Confessions
Many Weeks have passed by and Doug Hoo is still spying on Otis Amber hoping to uncover some type of clue. The tenants figure out that the three bombs weren't gas explosions they were fireworks which is what Sam Westing always loved. Sandy who spends most his time researching, uncovers that Mr. Westing's past wife is one of the heirs of the Westing Game. Also, Judge Ford thinks that the heir might be Bertha Erica Crow because she is Sam Westing's age and that she is always worried. Judge Ford says that she has to protected from danger.
Chapter 21~ The Fourth Bomb
All heirs are having a normal afternoon and the elevator all the way down to the lobby of Sunset Towers. After the door to the elevator opens sparks fly out thats is where the fourth bomb was planted. Everyone ducks to the ground and no one gets hurt, but one of the fireworks dosent go off hides in the elevator which is going to another floor where someone's standing. Turtle is hit by the bomb and everyone rushes to her aid and they make sure if she is in stable condition.
Chapter 22~ Losers, Winners
After the bombing, Turtle confesses to everyone that she is the bomber and that she is sorry for every one who got injured, but in reality the real bomber was Angela. When Grace talks about Turtle to her husband she feels regret, hate, and feels that she is not good enough for present day society. Meanwhile, Sydelle and Angela finally realize that their clues might say Otis Amber like many of the clues had been. Judge Ford starts to put the different aspects of the game together and to believe Mr. Westing might also not be dead and that he could be one of the Tenants.
Chapter 23~ Strange Answers
The heirs received a letter stating that they have to give answers of who the murderer is of Sam Westing. After all the answers ,Crow was asked to get refreshments for the people in the will. When she along with Angela, Sandy who had asked her to fill his flask , Ford, and Turtle. Denton Deere told Ford that none of the heirs had plastic surgery but Sandy needed it .Theo was still playing chess with the mystery man and took his queen so he technically won the game. A few minutes late Plum had told everyone to go to the library.
Chapter 24~ Wrong all Wrong
When the lawyer, Ed Plum, looks in the drawer of desk he finds a letter saying that all the answers the heirs gave were incorrect. The heirs start talking to each other and started piecing the clues together to find that the clues are words to America the Beautiful, but some words are missing. Sydelle finds out the missing words in the song ber, the, erica, crow. Bertha Erica Crow is the answer to the Westing Game!! All the heirs excitedly rush to tell Plum but Judge Ford gives a lecture about how they shouldn't give up a true friend for money. Immediately, Sandy somehow drops to ground and freezes. The paramedics rush in with Dr. Sikes and say that Sandy had a heart attack and that he is dead. The heirs have to give a final answer and they agree to say Crow.
Chapter 25~ Westing's Wake
After the answers, Crow is arrested and has go to court to speak with a judge about the murder. Turtle is replaying how Sandy died right there suddenly, and she remembers an eye winking at her, an action which Sandy has done many times to her. Turtle's mind is racing with thoughts and she believes that Sandy cannot die, and that he must still be alive. The real thing Sandy was trying to tell her that she could still win and the Game is not yet done.
Chapter 26~ Turtle's Trail
Realizing the idea that just popped in to her brain, Turtle rushes to find Judge J. J. Ford to asks her for a community trail with all the other heirs to figure out the murderer. To start off, Turtle asks Chris who he saw enter the Westing House during Haloween night. Chris says, Doctor Sikes. Furthermore, Turtle also asked who Is Otis Amber. He admits to having a secret of being an investigator hired by Barney Northrup to find gather news about the heirs. Then to top it off, Turtle asks Dr.Deere if he saw the body of Sam Westing and if that was fake. He says he saw nothing but he said it could have been. Turtle enquirers and tells the the jury that Sam Westing was Sandy McSouthers in disguise and that he was still alive. Turtle also tought that since Sam Westing's disgiuses were Barney NORTHrup, Sandy McSOUTHers, and Sam WESTing the cardinal directions. When the trail had finished Crow walked in with Ed Plum.
Chapter 27~ A Happy Fourth
Ed Plum gives word that the Westing Game is over. The heirs figure out that Crow was married to Sam Westing and are told to look outside of the Westing House. The heirs see fireworks go off outside of the mansion and the Westing mansion burned down. After this amazing and pleasuring show Turtle rushes out to find someone. That person was Julain. R. EASTman, the final direction. Turtle, using great smarts, had won the Westing Game and became the heir of Sam Westing's company!!
Chapter 28~ And Then...
Crow and Otis Amber get married, Sydelle becomes a secretary at Schultz Sausages, Grace becomes the owner of Hoo's on First which has ten franchises, and Angela and Dr. Denton Deere haven't seen each other for a very long time.
Chapter 29~ Five Years Pass
Theo went to college to become a journalist and a newspaper writer. Doug becomes a an Olympic gold medalist and an announcer. Everyone meets up at Hoo's On First for a old times reunion. Angela haven't Denton in 3 years and they fon't really talk.
Chapter 30~ The End?...
Turtle's is a grown and professional woman who still comforts and aids Sam every once and a while to tell him whats going on with the 16 heirs. After telling Sandy about the amazing things he created and made possible he takes his last breath and leaves the world in Turtle's presence. This time finally, the clever, cunning, and delightful, Samuel Westing had come to an end after many wonderful years.
